With the support of the Fund for Reform of Drug Policy of the Tides Foundation in New York, this took place in February 2004 to January 2005 aiming to contribute to the consolidation of a public opinion favorable to drug policy alternatives to the punitive perspective. Its actions gave continuity to the progress made with the project “Joining actors to reform drug policy”, and contributed to generate consensus on policy alternatives to criminalization.
Started in January 2003 to September 2004, this project was developed in Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay, with financing from the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), and the objective of creating more comprehensive governmental and non-governmental institutions in the area of HIV / AIDS associated with drug use. During the workshop, the results of the project “Prevention of HIV among injecting drug users in the Southern Cone,” administered by officials and NGO representatives from Argentina, Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay.
